The growth spurt

I’ve been a bit slack with the blogging. The trip to Perth and house renovations have been chewing up a fair bit of time.

Everything with the pregnancies is going well and both surrogates are doing well.

Around the 22nd of July at 7 weeks,  Miss B had some bleeding so an urgent ultrasound was undertaken and everything was found to be fine.  Instead of doing the scheduled scan for Miss B at 8 weeks, it was pushed back to 9 weeks then 11 weeks, so it is kind of nice getting weekly scans of the babies.

2 weeks ago when we had the 9-week scan for Miss B, it was indicated that baby number one, was at 8 weeks and 5 days,  two weeks later baby number one is estimated to be at11 weeks 5 days. So I am pretty happy that bub has made three weeks progress in two weeks. Has anyone else had this experience, is the baby going to become some sort of giant??? I am guessing that it is a normal variation.

A funny thing happened the other day, I was chatting to a friend and sharing the news about the twins and before I mentioned the clinic’s name, I was asked “it’s not Dr Shivani is it?”, turns out my friend also took a trip to India and is using Surrogacy Centre India.
Not only are they using the same clinic they are also having twins that will be due in February. Pretty Amazing!!!!

My parents are over the moon, they love seeing the ultra sounds, Mum has also started watching Bollywood movies and asking some of her friends from India about places to go and things to see. It is going to be so great having the family there sharing in this wonderful experience.

I hope everyone is well.

I heard a rumour the other day that you can claim some of the costs after the birth on Medicare, does anyone know anything about this?

  1. Hi Andrew, Just stumbled across your Blog, it seems you are around the same time frame as Myself and my wife with our Surrogacy, Not with the same Clinic, ours is with Rotunda.

This week is week 13 for us, with Fraternal twins (But Fetuses are about a week ahead in Development). We did have Triplets, but under Indian Law, one was reduced to Twins, Last Thursday.

I have not gone down the blog route, I am not a big fan of opening my life to everyone, but hey, Without them, I would not know half as much as I do.

As far as Medicare goes, there is a post on bubhub.com.au that says something to effect, that it seems as though any procedure on an infertile person is coverable ie, egg retrieval. But a procedure on a fertile person is not coverable ie, egg transfer into surrogate. As for Surrogacy in India ? I really dont know. Anyway, I dont care about the money from Medicare, I want the Twins no matter what !.

If you do not mind, I will give you my Email address, I would not mind swapping tips. I am sure you have read the same blogs I have, but Any info we can give each other i am sure would be of great help.

  2. So excited that you are well on your way, Adrian! Thinking of you and sending "boring pregnancy" vibes from the states.

I've been thinking of you and love the pictures you put up. It is so nice that you are back home and reunited as a family.
